The summer season has officially started, so make sure you take care of your outdoor furniture to keep it nice all summer long.
- First, if you have new furniture, make sure you read the manufacturer’s care instructions. You do not want to use a cleaner or product that could be harmful the the furniture.
- Throughout the summer, clean your furniture lightly with a manufacturer approved cleaning solution, but generally soap and water work. By including your outdoor furniture in your cleaning routine, you ensure it is ready to use and stays nice. Wood furniture can also need conditioning, but this is specific to the type of wood.
- Covering your furniture while it is not in use protects it from the elements. If you have outdoor pillows, bring those inside or put them in an outdoor storage bin.
- If you have a cordless vacuum, you can vacuum your outdoor rug, but if you don’t, a broom should work fine.
- As always, make sure to clean up spills promptly. Though outdoor furniture is more durable, it should still be cared for and cleaned swiftly to combat stains.
